Island Estates Civic Association The Island Estates Civic Association (IECA) and Save Our Shoppes (SOS), representing the north end of Sand Key, and Save Our Neighborhood (SON), representing the south end of Sand Key, have joined forces to oppose the potential construction of hotels or the expansion of existing hotels on the islands. President David L. Muzio and the Board of Directors of Island Estates have retained attorney, Alan S. Zimmet, to represent the Association opposing the ordinance allowing for construction on the island. Mr. Zimmet is, also, legal counsel for SOS and SON and has been representing numerous condominium homeowner associations opposing the zoning of the Shoppes on Sand Key to “T” tourist.
